BLOG

When something happens with me, this is the place to find out about it.

Carrots have nothin' on milk!

It's been a while since I've posted anything on here--I've got too much going on!  All this eating, playing, and sleeping makes for a rough schedule...

Anyway, since my last update, there's been a bunch of things happen: I've started sleeping through the night in late February (Mom and Dad seemed especially happy about that; I'm not sure why...), I went to my 6 month checkup and got poked with 4 different needles (but I'm otherwise healthy, even with my huge head that's in the 95th percentile of all heads on kids my age), I'm starting to eat the same kind of food as Mom and Dad (although I can't understand why they'd ever want to eat that instead of delicious milk--I remind them of that frequently), and my favorite, I'm starting to roll around all over the place and become mobile by army crawling!  Mom and Dad better keep an eye on me or I'll disappear!

Dad keeps telling me about this thing called Spring.  Apparently, we'll be outside a lot more, whatever that means.  I guess I've got a lot of new things to look forward to!  I'm just ready to explore everything, even if it's on my hands and knees!

Happy New Year!

Monday I had my 4 month doctor's appointment. I slowed down on my growing, which is good so I don't end up being a 400 pound 10 foot tall 2 year old. I'm only 13 pounds, which I'm sure Mom and Dad are grateful for since they have to lug me around all the time.

I heard Mom and Dad tell the doctor that I wasn't rolling over yet like I was supposed to be doing that already. No one told me I should have rolled over! If they would have just told me, I would have done it. Just to prove to them how amazing I am, as soon as the doctor was out of the room, Mom put me on my tummy and I rolled over right then and there. They acted like it was a fluke and put me on my tummy again. I rolled right over again. So there!

You know the reward I got for my amazing feats? Shots. That's right. Four of them. I didn't even see it coming. Two pretty nurses came in and I thought they were there to play with me but they pulled the old switcharoo. Soon Mom was pinning down my hands and they each had a leg, and in the shots went! It was rough, but I'm a pretty good trooper and I powered through it. Next time, I won't be fooled by those pretty girls though... I'll know what's coming as soon as I see them!

Well, today is New Years, and I feel pretty much the same as I did in 2013. I'm sure there are many more adventures to come. 2014 will probably be my year. Just wait, it will be awesome!

The Floods Can't Stop Me!

It's been a crazy couple of weeks around my house.  First, Colorado had some huge floods that destroyed some homes (and even an entire community) and washed away roads.  We were within a couple of miles of roads that got washed out, but my house and neighborhood are just fine... whew!

In between the rain and the storms, I took my first trip to Target with Mom and Aunt Sarah.  What a great place--it seemed great, anyway, even though I napped most of the time I was there.  I also went back to the doctor's office to get my first vaccination.  That was less great, but I didn't mind too much.  I did find out that I gained a pound and a half since I was born (in 2.5 weeks!) and grew 3 inches!  No wonder I eat every 2 hours like I'm starving...

Finally, I'm a star!  Mom and Aunt Sarah got the baby monitor put up in my room, so now people just watch me 24/7--it's like the ultimate reality show!  Now I just need to figure out how to get paid for getting watched...

I Made It Through My First Week!

I made it through my first week!  I feel like I should celebrate or something...  So far, I've slept 3 hours at once (one time), gone on several walks, made it to two doctors' checkup appointments, and even gone shopping with Mom and Aunt Karen for a few minutes.  No wonder I'm so tired...

I'm looking forward to watching football with Dad tomorrow.  I really liked watching the Broncos game on Thursday, so I'm sure I'll love a WHOLE DAY of football even more.  Anyway, now that the first week is behind me, it's all downhill from here.

First Doctor's Appointment

I got my first checkup with Dr. Palazzari today at 9:30.  Everything went great, and the doctor told Mom and Dad lots of interesting things that I'll be doing over the next few months.  If anybody needs a pediatrician, I've got one to recommend!

First Car Ride

I got my first car ride today, September 2nd when Dad took Mom and I home from the hospital at 5:00 PM.  It was a pretty uneventful trip--I was really tired--but we did have to make a stop at Walgreen's on the way home to pick up a couple of things for Mom and Dad.  I like the car!
